Placentia, Orange County
Placentia took its name, Latin for a pleasant place, in the 1870s and grew into a center of Valencia orange growing after the Santa Fe railroad arrived in 1910. The city incorporated in 1926. Two reminders of the citrus era are open to visitors: the Bradford House, built in 1902 by a leading grower, and the George Key Ranch, with its original farmhouse and a small working grove.
